About Me

I teach all levels of guitar from beginner to advanced.

My style is classical, that is to say finger picking.

i believe it is important to learn how to read music and understand to basic music theory .

My Musical Education Background

I have a BA in music, classical guitar performance from the University of Miami, where I studied with Juan Mercadal and Rene Gonzalez, as well as a MA. In classical guitar performance from the University of Denver. with Ricardo Iznaola. I started teaching guitar in 7th grade when the school I was going to have me a small class. I been teaching ever since then. When I was 15 I studied in Santiago de Compostela, Spain with Joae Tomas. I had master classes with all the greats in the guitar world.

Basic guitar fundamentals. Fingerboard- notes, basic music theory, fingerpicking- classical.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

I teach all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. The ideal ages to begin to learn a musical instrument is between 3-10

i like to start around 7-12 for guitar. Although adults progress well also. It is up to the individual how much they put into it and how they practice. Guitar students often have glitches in their playing and need some help. These are the students I most enjoy working with.

My Certifications and Awards

I am certified by the state of Florida to teach grades K-12

i have a masters degree where I was one of the teachers assistants. 

My Musical Influences

My influences are vast in that I love nearly all musical styles. Though I play classical. Why I play classical is because it's more challenging to me. The ability to expressive is incredible.
