About Me
Chinese-American pianist Alexis Zhu has been recognized as one of the most exciting new pianists of her generation. Alexis's 2006-2007 season was highlighted by an acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut in Weill Recital Hall, sponsored by the La Gesse Foundation, as well as additional concerts in France, Summer 2006. Alexis made her first concerto appearance at the age of 11 and since then, has performed all over the United States, and abroad as well as in numerous festivals; as a Cliburn Young Artist, at Pianofest in the Hamptons, and at the Mannes International Keyboard Institute. As an up-and-coming new pedagogue, Alexis is much-in-demand as a teacher. She is currently on the Piano Faculty of the Preparatory/Precollege Division of the Peabody Conservatory.
