I first met Charlotte Mathias in 1969. I started piano lessons with her at that time. And here it is, 50 years later (!) and I'm still playing! I took lessons all through elementary, junior high, and high school with Mrs. Mathias, continuing on into college at the University of Akron. She instilled in me a love for music and playing that is still with me. Her students all participated in yearly recitals, National Guild of Piano Teachers auditions, and other competitions. I also accompanied my junior high and high school choirs, and continue to play today on worship team at my church. This has been a life-long journey, and I'm glad Mrs. Mathias had room in her schedule for a little girl who didn't like to practice.
