About Me

Full time teacher and performer, founder of Jazz Improvisation course at U of Del which he taught for 27 years, teacher of classical piano, as well as jazz and popular music the The Wilmington Music School (now re-named as the Music School of Delaware) for 25 years, and currently teaching piano at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Del as well as at his private home in Newark, Del.

My Musical Education Background

BA in Music Univ of Del, piano studies with Mildred Gaddis, advanced studies in theory and improv with Dennis Sandole, arranging with Grammy-winner Don Sebesky and Berklee School of Music, classical piano with Robert Bedford, West Chester Univ,

Lesson Rates

Half hour lessons are $100 per month
45 minute lessons are $150 per month
One hour lessons are $200 per month

My Certifications and Awards

Music Teachers National Association, Delaware State Music Teachers Association, National Association of Jazz Educators, 1st prize in Don Sebesky's New York class, winner of Parents' Choice Award for 3 albums co-written and produced with SonyKids artist Lois Young, judge at State Piano Solo Festival many years, certified in Play Music in a Flash.

My Musical Influences

In piano, master teachers Mildred Gaddis, founder of DSMTA, and Dr. Robert Bedford, West Chester University. Also studies with George Sementosky, Temple U and Orlando Otey. Jazz studies with Dennis Sandole, Ray Santisi (Berklee) and Charlie Banacos (Harvard).
In jazz, Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Tommy Flanagan, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, Teddy Wilson, Art Tatum, Fats Waller etc.
In popular, Ray Charles, Bruce Hornsby, Elton John, Chuck Leavell (Allman Bros), Richard Manuel (The Band}, Jerry Lee Lewis, Floyd Cramer.
