About Me

I love playing piano and I love teaching piano. My Carmichael studio /music lab welcomes children, teens and adults to discover that they can learn to play the piano quickly and beautifully. Hundreds have learned to play well over the 30 years I have taught here. I teach private, partner and group lessons, according to the needs of each person. We have monthly playing opportunities at a retirement community; some participate in annual auditions sponsored by Music Teachers Assoc of California and National Piano Teachers Guild. I enjoy every style of music myself and generally teach a core historical variety of music from classical Baroque to Ragtime. I'm mother of four adult children and grandmother of five! I've played piano since I was 3 years old. All through school I performed in and accompanied orchestras, choirs, church groups, teas, ensembles, dance band, and taught younger kids.

My university degrees:

Taubmen training

Genres and Subjects Taught

My students learn sight reading, theory, ear training and composition and music history.

Self guided learning centers are in the music lab to further develop these areas of music.

Lesson Rates

Monthly tuition:

30 minutes private coaching + 30 minutes lab $140 per month
45 minutes private coaching + 30 minutes lab $210
60 minutes private coaching + 30 minutes lab $280


Partner lessons and group lesson fees are adjusted according to the time and number in the sessions.

Partner lessons are especially motivating for some students. Group lessons have a lot of "play" for young children.

Occasional scholarships for deserving students.

Very young children 4-5 in groups
All ages thru adults in their 80's are presently in my studio
