About Me

Piano lessons should be all about meeting your artistic goals. Whether it is learning how to read music or how to conquer the most difficult repertoire with ease, I am excited about helping you succeed.

I am a positive, upbeat teacher. I am passionate about showing my students that all the answers they need are already inside them. I love to bring out the inner artist in my students and strive to give them the tools to express themselves effectively at the instrument.

In teaching classical piano, I use my experience as a teaching fellow in Ear Training at Juilliard coupled with my specialized knowledge of Taubman technique to supplement each student's learning experience.

I currently accept all levels of ability, and offer convenient lesson times and locations to work with your schedule.

Biography:

Andrew Eitel began his piano training at the age of three. In 1999, he was accepted into the North Carolina School of the Arts where he studied under Clifton Matthews. Shortly thereafter, Eitel made his orchestral and TV debut with the I Solisti Vivaldi orchestra. While in North Carolina, Eitel won both the State and Southern Division MTNA senior piano competitions. From 2005-2009, he studied at the prestigious Juilliard School under Robert McDonald, receiving additional coaching from Yoheved Kaplinsky, Richard Goode, Seymour Lipkin, Julian Martin, Matti Raekallio, Anton Kuerti, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Jonathan Feldman, and Margo Garrett.

While at Juilliard, Eitel was awarded a Teaching Fellowship in Ear Training and the Erskine Graduation Prize for excellence in academics and the arts. He was also featured on WQXR-FM in a radio program entitled "Reflections from the Keyboard" hosted by David Dubal.

In New York, Eitel worked extensively with Edna Golandsky, the leading expert on Taubman technique and was the winner of the Golandsky Institute Young Artist award.
