About Me

Teaching Philosophy

​Music has a special way of communicating our innermost feelings and emotions.  To help others express themselves through music, Mrs. Ann dedicates herself as an instructor to help students develop their skills as musicians.  Whether students desire to perform professionally or simply want to play for fun, Mrs. Ann seeks to help them find an appreciation and love for music that will extend for the rest of their lives.  Teaching has always been Mrs. Ann’s passion, and with 25+ years of experience in piano teaching, she firmly believes in inspiring students to discover their purpose and potential.  Together, we treasure and create beautiful memories through the experience of making music.

About Ann Hung

Mrs. Ann, born in Kaohsung, Taiwan, began her musical studies of piano at age 5 and voice at age 14.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Chinese Culture University and a master’s degree in piano performance and education from National Pingtung University.  Mrs. Ann was a board-certified full-time music teacher in elementary and middle schools in Taiwan for 6 years.  In 2006, Mrs. Ann and her family moved to Greenville, NC where she continued piano lessons in her own piano studio until Summer 2024.  She was also the vice president of the Greenville Piano Teachers’ Association for years.  Overall, she has over 25 years of professional piano teaching and choir coaching experience.  She has taught several types of students and skill levels with private piano lessons in various settings to fit each student’s specific needs. 

Mrs. Ann and her husband Peter are the parents to three children, Carolyn, Owen, and Ian. Mrs. Ann and her family are looking forward to starting a new chapter in the Oak Ridge area where she will continue teaching piano.  The Ann Piano Studio is ready to serve you and your piano lesson needs !!

Lesson Rates

Tuition

• Tuition for each lesson is $35/ 30 mins, $50/ 45 mins, or $65/ 60 mins.  Tuition should be paid for the full month at the beginning of the month via check, cash, or through Zelle or Venmo.  Monthly payment is typically calculated by 4 or sometimes 5 lessons for the month.  A $10 late fee will be added if payment is not received before the 10th of each month.  An invoice will be emailed at the beginning of each month upon request.
