About Me
Called "a performer of relentless intensity" by the Boston Music Intelligencer Asher Severini has performed in such halls as Jordan Hall, and Merkin Hall to critical acclaim. A performer of the major staples of the literature, Asher has frequently performed contemporary music working with such composers as Elliott Carter and Steve Reich. His background is in piano performance and music theory. A student at the New England Conservatory he has studied with the brilliant faculty at NEC and also received training from numerous outstanding individuals at music festivals such as Brevard and Tanglewood. Piano teachers have included Gabriel Chodos and Russell Sherman and I have studied theory with Deborah Stein.
If you're reading this you may be wondering what sets me apart from other teachers. My primary goal is to solve problems quickly. I believe that a teacher should be committed to doing whatever he/she can do to make the process of learning as easy as possible. I believe my knowledge can help you achieve your short term and long term goals. I believe that technique is the result of the development of the hands and their interdependence as well as the application of learned motions. I stress the development of a solid musicianship along with technique. I strive to create a friendly, casual yet focused teaching environment and work to identify student goals and proceed to accomplish these goals. Basic music theory will be taught in lessons when necessary.
I'm looking forward to working with you! I charge 30 dollars an hour. Also, I'm more than happy to travel to you! I want taking lessons to be easy and enjoyable. I offer free consultation and the first 2 lessons free! I look forward to hearing from you.

My Musical Influences
I have been greatly influenced by my last piano teacher Gabriel Chodos and my theoretical studies with Deborah Stein. Chamber music sessions with Martin Beaver of the Tokyo String Quartet were also influential.
