The WholeMusic™ Experience

WholeMusic™ is a paradigm shift in the future of music education.

The first reason that this concept is a paradigm shift is the fact that the WholeMusic™ program is indeed a whole music education. It is not just a piano lesson. It is a WholeMusic™ education. Each adult learner is given to opportunity to learn the 20 essential areas of musical knowledge:

First and foremost - the love and appreciation
Elements of music
Music Theory
Analysis
Piano technique
Music history

Composition
Transposition
Aural perception
Sight reading
Pop music
Classical music
Church music
Ensemble
Accompaniment
Interpretation
Performance
Presentation

The WholeMusic™ paradigm holds that each adult learner deserves the opportunity to training in each of these areas. The extent of training in each area depends on the adult's own interests and how long he or she is in the WholeMusic™ program.

The second reason why it is believed that the WholeMusic™ program is a paradigm shift in the future of music education is because of the focus on mastering success by developing elevated life skills. WholeMusic™learners become well-rounded musicians who, through their musical achievements, also master elevated life skills. Adult learners praise the program’s approaches to developing their:

Student Reviews

Mesa, AZ

Ashley is a master at coaching the process of learning and playing the piano. She has helped this student grasp that impeccable performance with the keyboard requires integration of inner and outer innate talents and learned skills.

Scottsdale, AZ

I wanted to play piano for all of my adult life. I took lessons for about 2 years when I was 10, but gave it up. Then about 4 years ago my friend Mike encouraged me to take lessons from Ashley. I kept putting off calling her, finding excuses that were disguised as reasons. The usual excuses, I didn't have time, I was too old to learn, I didn't "like" the piano that I bought with the intention of learning piano again. I took lessons off and on with 4 different instructors over the past 15 years, but never stuck with it for more than a month or so. Then Mike decided it was time to buy himself a new piano and needed a home for his old one, a delightful baby grand. Voila! No more excuses! When you have a piece of furniture that big, you better use it. I called Ashley, and we started lessons. My first lesson was at 8:00 in the evening. I had not felt well that day, had a long day at work, and could feel another reason (excuse) not to do this. It would be so much easier to just call it a day. I came home, considered canceling my first lesson, but was too proud to cancel. During that first lesson, Ashley and I talked and talked (makes me smile to think about it), and set up some goals. About halfway through, I realized how fantastic I felt. I was't as tired as before my lesson, and I was actually energized, I felt great and couldn't wait to get this going. I think that the music and the inspiration I felt that night really lifted my spirits and helped me feel better. In hindsight, and since I met Ashley, I think I realize that the reason I never stuck with it is perhaps because of the way I was being taught. It was always lesson after lesson of memorization, with no logic being pointed out to make what I was memorizing stick. Ashley makes things make sense. She teaches the whys of music, and when you know the whys of music, you learn the ways of music, and everything starts to makes sense and sticks. She makes each lesson different from the last, and I end lessons amazed at what I have learned. Ashley is able to point out things you didn't realize she taught you. She is an awesome instructor and I am extremely happy that I (with the help of Mike) have found her.

My musical journey with Ashley Bradford has been nothing short of amazing. It has given me confidence I didn't realize I had as well as helping me develop the ability to better focus on other areas in my life. If someone had of told me a few years ago that I would be excited about performing in front of people I would have laughed and said, yeah right. There's nothing like broadening your horizons through music. It's never to late. The best words to sum up my experience are tranquil, motivating, and rewarding.
