About Me
Selected 4 year olds through Adults; Beginners through College Preparatory. Private Instruction in: Piano, Violin/Viola/Cello, Recorder, Theory and Composition.
My Musical Education Background
Over 30 yrs. teaching experience. Advanced students have been accepted at numerous schools including New England Conservatory of Music and Berklee.
B.Mus. Piano Performance Major, Violin Minor-Northern Conservatory of Music.
Past Vice President MMTA (Maine Music Teachers Assoc.). Past Dean Bangor Chaper of AGO (American Guild of Organists).
Active Professional musician as Church Musician (organist/pianist/accompanist) for Church Services, Weddings, Funerals.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Private Instruction in: Piano, Violin/Viola/Cello, Theory & Composition. Primarily Classical, supplemented with music of students' interest. Lessons include training in technique, theory, sight-reading, duets/ensemble playing and exploration of improvization and composition.
Computer Lab for Theory, Ear Training and Composition available to all students before or after their lesson.
Students can perform in a Christmas program & Spring Recital. Numerous other Performance opportunites include playing at MMTA events, Assisted Living/Nursing Homes and Churches. Music Hours are held throughout the year on Saturday mornings for small groups of students at the same level to learn/perform with peers.
Yearly Studio goals and Awards given at the Spring Recital. The most outstanding student each year receives a month free Tuition.
Lesson Rates
POLICY: Lessons are given weekly year round. Tuition is payable in advance monthly or by the term (discounted) by the 25th of the month for the following month (June tuition would be due by May 25th) for lessons dates that the Studio is open. Lessons missed due to illness/weather will be made up provided I have an opening during Studio hours and are not guaranteed to be private lessons.
$20. per half hour instruction (Beginners); $28. per 45 minute lesson; $38. per hour instuction (hourly rate applies to members of the same household). Students are responsible for the cost of Music. If a student wishes to terminate instruction, I must receive written notification by the 15th of the month or they will be responsible for the following month.
SUMMER SESSION: This is a good time to try music lessons without a long term commitment. Students are not charged, with advance notice, for family vacation weeks.
