About Me

I have eclectic musical tastes. I love to play classical music, but since I was little jazzy arrangements of christmas tunes have been some of my favorite pieces!

When listening to music, I also enjoy southern and folk rock. I put music on and sing and dance, I'm sure I look very silly!

I support my students in trying out all sorts of music, because I don't think anyone should be pidgeon-holed into just one type.

I have lived in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont, and taught in all three states. I am excited to be teaching online, because I get to keep working with students who previously were too far away to continue with me.

COVID update: all lessons are currently online. In-studio lessons will be an option again once the state of Vermont has reduced restrictions.

My Musical Education Background

I began studying the piano at age 7 and have never stopped!
My advanced studies took place at Gordon College and the University of New Hampshire. Teachers of note include Dr. Alina Polyakov, and Dr. Hsiang Tu.  In addition to my lessons in solo piano, I studied 4-hand piano, chamber music with vocalists and instrumentalists, and took classes in music theory, music history, and music education.

I have taught everything from classes for babies and preschoolers to private lessons to highschool choir. My goal is to support my students in becoming lifelong music makers. I strongly believe that music is more than an enrichment activity for children, lessons are a chance for all ages to gain a skill that they will carry with them forever. The ability to express themselves through music and to enjoy playing.

Genres and Subjects Taught

At the beginner and intermediate levels, I teach using contemporary piano methods. These expose students to a wide range of styles of music, while also forming a strong pianistic technique that will serve as a foundation for playing any genre of music that the student prefers as they advance.

As a university-trained classical pianist, I can also offer advanced students lessons in classical technique, style, and interpretation. Advanced lessons include topics in music history and theory.

Lesson Rates

My studio schedule is divided into 4 quarters. Rates vary based on student selection. Students can sign up for group classes, private lessons, or a-la carte lessons.

I offer free consultations to discuss which learning option would serve you and your budget best.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

Students 4-5 years old with the presence of a parent who is willing to learn alongside them and assist with practicing.

Students 6+

Adults are welcome!
