About Me
I've been a teacher for over 12 years - first in the public schools and now running my own studio. The Bloomfield Suzuki School of Music teaches students as young as three years old to play cello and violin. Weekly private and group lessons allow for a "learning triangle" between the teacher, student and parent in order to ensure success for EVERY child. Dr. Suzuki felt strongly that every child no matter their natural ability level could learn to love playing an instrument. My school is based on that philosophy.
My Musical Education Background
B.M. Music Education, Michigan State University, M.M. Oakland University
Genres and Subjects Taught
I strive to teach my students a strong fundamental technique in a fun and engaging way. We also learn basic music theory as it pertains to performance. I use the Suzuki Method books as the core to study and supplement with various other resources.
Lesson Rates
I offer my students quarterly tuition. Each quarter is roughly 3 months long. This allows me to keep my focus on my students and their education rather than keeping track of accounting. Cost breaks down to about $32 for a 30 minute lesson.
