About Me
I am a professional composer, writing mainly for orchestral and ensembles. My philosophy of teaching is focusing on helping my students discover their own compositional process and unique musical voice.
My Musical Education Background
I have been giving music theory and composition lessons for the past 8 years, teaching students at every ability level.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Music theory and composition lessons are an integral part of every music student's education!
I teach all styles of music. I have studied many musiciologists and music theorists, and am currently developing a theory to help analyze and understand polychordal music.
For beginning music students, learn how to:
- Write music on paper.
- Write music on your computer.
- Learn abot music theory: harmony, melody, and rhythm.
- Use the compositional process.
For musicians focused on growing their professional skill set, learn how to:
- Write for other instruments like a pro.
- Use music notation software.
- Transcribe pieces for your own instrument.
- Expand your musical vocabulary: learn about more patterns and chord possibilities.
- Create your own lead sheets.
