About Me
Hi, my name is David and I'm a 2012 graduate from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree. I'm retired from the Army and teach JROTC in high school in South Carolina. Teaching piano is one of my passions in life, and I hope to impart that passion to my students in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. My style of teaching is structured and organized around improvising and learning to be creative. You may just want to learn to play for fun or be able to play a favorite song. My goal is to give you a solid foundation in technique and music theory that will last a life-time.
I have the ability to offer online piano lessons to all ages with the option of using the TakeLessons platform for billing, scheduling, and customer support.
Using TakeLessons means you'll need to pay for lessons with your credit card through their site. You'll gain access to my schedule, be able to see which lessons you've paid for, request lessons be rescheduled or canceled, and also gain the option of reaching out to their stellar customer support team when I'm not available to help you. Having all my students using TakeLessons will really help me manage my teaching business more efficiently.
If you decide that using TakeLessons sounds like a good fit for you, you can schedule and pay for lessons through my profile: Conatct me at davidwettrich at (contact me)

My Musical Influences
*** Lesson Details ***
I have a step by step method that I truly believe will take you from beginner to the next level. With my teaching approach, I will provide a natural flow and logical sequence for you to follow. I believe every student needs a solid foundation from which to start from. Sometimes we want to get to the final destination without enjoying the journey along the way. You might be tempted to skip over some of the material, but I highly recommend that you take this journey with me from the beginning and the results will be evident as you progress.
Students are expected to review what was taught during the previous lesson. This makes the lessons run much more smoothly. A little bit of discipline goes a long way to making your music experience FUN and EXCITING. I will also provide you with sheet music and exercises to practice on throughout your week. As my students grow as musicians, my hope is that they will discover a love for music, giving them an appreciation of the arts for years to come.
*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a Yamaha DGX-520 88-Key Portable Grand Piano Keyboard. An internal webcam on my laptop as well as an external Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920, for multiple views.
