About Me
I have been teaching piano for almost 30 years in this area. I am very competitive and patient and expect and achieve great results with my students. My specialty is beginning students, and I am available during the day for adult beginners and home schooled students.
My Musical Education Background
My background is classical music, privately trained.
Genres and Subjects Taught
I like to tailor the lesson to the student, with a well-rounded repertoire. The student's interest is important to me, but I expose them to all types of music.
Lesson Rates
I primarily teach 55-minute lessons. In my home the rate is $40.00 per hour. If the student prefers a 30 minute lesson, the price is $25.00. In a student's home, the amount will be adjusted depending on where they live and scheduling limitations.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
Beginners are my specialty. Most of my students are adults, but I love to each children as well. I like to start them after 7 or 8 years old and develop their love for music in the correct way. Prior to second grade most children do not have sufficient motor skills to enjoy the piano. There are exceptions, but usually second grade is the earliest to see good results and prevent frustration in the student.
My Musical Influences
From when I started to talk, the only thing I wanted was a piano. That was from within. My inspiration comes from many artists, from the Beatles to Yanni to Harry Connick Jr. to Elton John!
