About Me

Dr Ken has two earned doctoral degrees and was former Associate Professor of music  at  several northern Virginia universities..  Ken has over 50 years of teaching and performance experience including accompanist for the late Dr. Billy Graham and performances at the White House..  Dr. Mahood is now taking  adult students in Northern Tenessee  via webcam or in-person lessons. . Evaluations can be setup at your convenience.

My Musical Education Background

B.S. Music Education (1968),   composition study with Aaron Copland (the late noted American composer (1970-71),  graduate work at Manhattan School of Music (NY),   PhD , Metropolitan University of London (1982),   Ph.D Concordia College and Univer (2001)

Genres and Subjects Taught

I have taught thousands of students over the past 50 years.  I am also one of the few instructors in Gospel Improvisation and chord study. I am now semi-retired living near Sacramento, California but teaching select students at Vintage Park Community Church in Sacramento, CA

Lesson Rates

We use a sliding scale based on student's ability, age group, and lesson period desired.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

Select students who desire improvisation, chord study, theory & composition.  Please note:   collecte age, Adults and Senior Citizens accepted.
