About Me
I began my piano studies very early in life, learning to read music before I learned to read words. It was the beginning of a lifelong love for the piano. I went on to study at Boston University where I received my Bachelors degree in Piano Performance. While there, I discovered that I enjoyed working with singers, and stayed on to get my Masters at B.U. in Vocal Accompanying and Coaching.
After college I spent a few years as a performing pianist, and also worked at the Westport School of Music as a piano teacher. The school’s director, Martha Hisey, wanted to institute a preschool music program there, and suggested that I go for Kindermusik training. I was inspired by the program and fell in love with teaching preschoolers. I taught Kindermusik at the school, as well as a preschool curriculum of my own design at the nearby Southport Congregational Preschool.
In 1997 I went through the Alternate Route to Certification program to become certified to teach music in Connecticut public schools. I worked at Weston Middle School from 1997-2004 as a General Music and Chorus teacher.
From 1999-2003 I went through four levels of Orff-Schulwerk training under Vivian Murray, Nancy Ferguson, and Jos Wuytack. I earned my Orff Master Teacher certificate.
I left teaching temporarily to raise my little daughter Heather and be a stay-at-home Mom. My husband John and I have since decided to open Fanfare Music Studio in our home.

"My daughter and I began taking piano lessons just a few months ago at Fanfare Music Studio. Not only were we playing songs after our first lesson, but Mrs. T instantly instilled in both of us a love of playing piano. She is the most patient and encouraging teacher I have encountered. As a mom taking lessons with my daughter, I'm so impressed with how easily she is able to tailor her teaching style to her students' individual needs. She comes with my highest of recommendations!"

"Mrs. Tusch is the most patient teacher, which is exactly what my 6 year old son needs!" "I like that the teacher, Danielle Tusch, can assess where my son is at and proceed with the appropriate lesson & pace that works best for him. As a result of this individualized approach & the incredible patience Mrs. Tusch has as a teacher, my son enjoys his lessons & playing for us at home"
