About Me
I have a Masters degree in voice from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I also taught voice to undergraudates. I have sung in choirs across the country and in Opera productions here in NJ. I teach all styles of singing, Musical Theater, Pop, and Classical. I studied with many well known teachers throughout my life. After many years, I found Maestro Anthony Frisell, who aside from directing and teaching several Met Opera singers, wrote the books 'The Tenor Voice' and 'The Soprano Voice'. These books are in most music libraries still today, and focus on developing a complete voice by training both the head and chest registers of the voice. Once the full voice is developed, you can sing any style that you please, securely and safely. I also have a teachers certificate from Sivananda Yoga. Proper breathing and posture are the bedrock of good singing.
My Musical Education Background
I taught at the university level when I was younger. I spent much of my time after this performing, learning from other teachers and raising a family. I have had students off and on for many years. I am semi-retired now and would like to help students find their complete, true voice.
Lesson Rates
$25 for 1/2 hour. $45 for 1hr. I am not charging much as I am semi-retired and simply enjoy it. lf I am coming to you, it would be $20 more.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
All levels. From kids trying to make a choir, to those seeking advice when they feel 'stuck' in College Music school, to professionals who want to master Maestro Frisell's headvoice technique.
My Musical Influences
I learned to love singing listening to the old LP's of singers of the Golden and Silver age of Opera. Gigli, Bjorling, Caruso. But I love musical theater and pop/rock music as well. Growing up in the 80's alot of heavy metal too!
