About Me
I have been teaching for 30 years in my home studio and at a very fine music school in Worcester.
My Musical Education Background
I am a classically trained pianist and take an eclectic and developmental approach to my teaching. I use a variety of method books, depending on what's best for each student.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Classical, folk, pop and jazz.
Lesson Rates
$57 per hour $47 for 45 minutes $32 for 30 minutes (children under 8)
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
Ages 7 and up, all levels. Rhythm, sight reading, theory, technique, composing and ear training. A variety of repertoire which includes classical and student requests. I enjoy teaching adults.
My Certifications and Awards
Bachelors degree in Child Development Ohio State University. Classical piano studies with Nancy Oliva. Pedagogical and classical training with Sue Wen starting in 1984 and continues to this day. I am a lifetime learner. Recitals are held twice a year in my home studio. I believe the best award is intrinsic, the ability to play with confidence and enjoyment.
My Musical Influences
Every genre of music, but particularly classical and romantic composers.
