About Me
I teach Violin, Viola, Cello, Fiddle, Tunewriting, Ear Training, Music Theory, Recording tips, playing in a band, & singing while playing. I'm a professional musician, teacher, composer, & recording artist with 25 years teaching experience.
I enjoy helping students learn an artistic skill that will stay with them throughout life. Music is an incredible outlet for expression. All levels welcome. Ages 5 to adult. It's never too late to learn.
In our first lesson I'll assess the students' current skill set and we'll develop a plan that best suits their goals. I am equally comfortable teaching beginners through advanced players.
Styles include: Classical, Suzuki/Rolland hybrid, Fiddle (Irish, Old-Time, Bluegrass, Blues, Rock, Pop)
Ear training, sight reading, composing, chords, backing, and improvisation are all taught as important aspects of being a well-rounded musician. I can also provide advice on looping, multi-effects pedals, & studio recording tips.
I encourage students to play in bi-annual recitals, local jam sessions, orchestras, bands, and I provide other performance opportunities whenever possible.
