My Musical Education Background
I have a BA in music education from Bridgewater College in Virginia. I taught music/band/piano in the public schools for six years. I currently have a piano studio with many great students.

My Musical Influences
Many people helped me become the musician and teacher I am today. My mother encouraged me to take lessons and urged me to find a teacher who would work to help me with my musical goals. Luckily, I found Mrs. Fike who greatly influenced my love of piano. Also, Mr. Wilkes, my high school band director gave me many opportunities to be a leader and show me that I could be a great teacher. During college, I was fortunate to study with Dr. Barr, who encouraged me to look deeper into the music to find the emotion and purpose. His instructions helped me look at music in a new way.
