About Me
Jill Telesco received her bachelor degree in piano performance and has more than 12 year of experience in teaching piano. She is a dedicated piano teacher and enjoys teaching students of all ages and levels. She is also an active member of the Schubert Club of Fairfield County and Connecticut State Music Teacher Association. She performs regularly as a soloist as well as an accompanist in Fairfield country.
My Musical Education Background
Jill began her piano studies at age 6. Five Years later, she was accepted to the prestigious Sichuan Conservatory of Music in China where she studied with the highly-regarded Yang Hanguo and Dan Zhaoyi. As a young pianist, she played with Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra for movie recordings and won two youth piano competition in Chongqing, China.
Jill subsequently came to U.S. and studied at the Interlochen Arts Academy from under Benjamin Yu and was awarded the Interlochen Outstanding Music Scholarship. Jill then received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Akron, where she studied with Philip Thomson under a full Herman Muehlstein Scholarship for four years. As a student in Akron she received the Outstanding Piano Student award, and was a finalist in the Tuesday Music Club Piano Competition. Jill also performed with the University Symphonic Orchestra, university keyboard and chamber ensembles and performed frequently while in school. She also served as a piano accompanist for the Dance School of Music at the University of Akron for 3 years.

Jill’s Piano Studio teaches classical piano performance. Jill is dedicated and serious about teaching her students the love of music for life. She gives great importance to develop musical, technical, theory and ear training skills. She strives to provide a positive and fun teaching environment that is catered to an individual student’s abilities, needs and interests. She enjoys helping students to develop discipline, concentration and coordination skills through the learning of music.
