About Me
I love watching my students succeed and discover the music within them, while developing the ability to express their creativity.
As a music teacher for over 30 years, I have taught students who now have performance careers, and who work in the recording and film industries. I also have many students who learn to play music solely for their own enjoyment.
I have performed professionally with folk, rock, jazz and religious music groups and am currently leading my own group called Sweet Ginger Pie.
One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is sharing my passion for music with students and watching them grow as musicians.
My Musical Education Background
I studied Jazz Guitar Performance at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. I have also studied Country Blues and American Fingerstyle guitar with John Stropes. I studied bass with Hal Miller and my voice teachers were Adele Borouchoff, Philip Pearl and Jack Kessler. My jazz mentors include: Manty Ellis, Jack Grassel, Rich Boukas, Ted Dunbar, Berkeley Fudge and Barry Harris. I studied Music Theory with Tony King, Arranging with Eddie Baker, and Kodaly Musicianship (Ear Training) with Laurdella Bodolay.

It is so nice to be able to take lessons in the comfort of your own home. Cutting out the travel time for us was key! Also I really like the way the instructor teaches the lessons!

Jeremy knows his stuff, he has a wide array of books he uses to teach. He also notes your personal interests and suggests further reading and structures lessons around what you find fascinating. 10/10, would recommend

Jeremy was always knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions I had regarding everything from practice techniques, guitar maintenance, and music theory. Following Jeremys advice I improved drastically and more importantly learned how to keep improving my guitar skills.

I enjoyed working with Jeremy because he was very encouraging and patient with me. I gained a great deal of knowledge about singing in the short time I worked with him. He was an asset to my singing progression. I look forward to working with Jeremy in the future.
