About Me
I have been teaching music for the past 24+ years!
I teach all ages - literally from 5 year olds to 75 years of age!
I love understanding the way each student sees the world and the dreams they have…and then seeking to help them access their full potential!
My Students Say:
"Thank you for spending your time and helping me reach my full potential. I am so impressed with myself and am now in love with that song, so thanks!" -Ella
"I wanted to thank you for spending time and pushing me to be better as a singer. You are really funny, and I'm glad I opened up to you and you could really hear me because I get nervous while singing. But now I'm proud and am able to sing in front of more people again. Thank you." - Grace
My Musical Education Background
I am a member of the Schubert Club of Fairfield County, and my in-person students have the opportunity to take part in the Fairfield Young Musician's Festival - a competition that rates each student against a standard (not each other, but an objective standard of excellence) in an encouraging atmosphere!
Genres and Subjects Taught
PIANO
I most often utilize the Bastien Piano Basics curriculum for Beginner to Intermediate PIANO students. Then branching into Classical Piano Solo Curriculum, Pop Music for playing within a Band, Music from Soundtracks, Sacred Music, & Showtunes for learning Accompaniment Skills, etc. as students become more Advanced.
Vocal
For my VOCAL students, I focus on Breath Control, Use of Vowels and Proper Pronunciation, & Learning to Perform with Confidence. Repertoire can contain anything from Pop Music to Italian Arias, Beetles to Broadway - depending on the student's vocal range and age. Beginners should be at least 8 years old, and I am careful not to overtrain the vocal chords until after puberty.
Lesson Rates
In-Person Lesson Rate = $40.00 per 30 minute lesson - payable at the beginning of the month for the lessons in that month.
Virtual Lesson Rate = $55.00 per 40 minute lesson (as it seems to take slightly longer to explain/work through concepts online than in-person)
Tuition is Due at the First Lesson of the Month for the number of lessons scheduled in that month (1 per week).
Please kindly remember that you are reserving a Time Slot (ex. 4:30-5pm on Tuesdays). If you realize that you will not be able to make your lesson time slot on any given date (excluding previously acknowledged holidays or dates when I am absent), please recognize that it is still your responsibility to pay for that lesson. I cannot give refunds for missed lessons.
Absences due to Illness or Inclement Weather
- If the student or a household member is sick,
- there is a family emergency
- If I choose to cancel in-person lessons due to inclement weather
a make-up lesson will be scheduled to replace the missed lesson. In these cases, please contact me ASAP to schedule a make-up lesson.
