About Me
Music is a language – and like any language, there are many basics which must be mastered prior to advancing to more complex applications. During a course of study, I attempt to cover different areas of musicianship: performance, theory, technique, harmony, ear-training, sight-reading, and a comprehensive study of musical literature in a progressive fashion. I truly feel that a well-rounded musical education helps students define for themselves what music means to them.
Please bear in mind that no two students are exactly alike, and children (as well as adults) learn at different rates of speed. Therefore, I approach students as individuals and attempt to challenge each according to their own unique potential.
Music is not easy, and may not always be "fun". However, given sufficient time and structured practice, it does become enjoyable to master the many different aspects of this art.
My Musical Education Background
I studied piano and music history in Russia (Moscow) and Austria (Salzburg) and got my last Masters degree at University of Oregon, USA.
I have moved to NKY from the West coast in 2009 and now actively perform in the Tri-State music scene with ensemble and church music.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Although I specialize in classical style, my lessons are individually customized to each student's interests and include study in theory and technique, as well as practical musicianship skills such as ensemble playing, improvisation, listening skills, and sight-reading.
Students may choose the pieces they wish to learn and are encouraged to explore a variety of musical genres.
Lesson Rates
I offer two options: per lesson and monthly flat rate.
The basic rate is $20 per 30 min lesson.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught

My Certifications and Awards
2013: My 11 y.o. piano student became a First Prize Winner of the 88 Tri-State Piano Concerto Competition in her age group (grade 5-6) and performed with the NKY Youth Sinfonia Orchestra at the winners concert.
