About Me
Your children will be in good hands studying with me! Lessons are either in my studio in Weehawken, NJ, or I can travel to your home location in the New Jersey or Manhattan areas. I have been performing and teaching music in both the United States and Canada for over 20 years. I have Masters of Music degree, as well as a Bachelor of Music degree from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) summa cum laude( with highest honors). I have also studied privately with Julliard teachers, and am committed to the highest level instruction for my students. Lessons are tailor made to fit the student, to accomodate the child's or adult student's interests, and promote their love for music. I enjoy teaching young children and parents are always welcome to sit in on any/all lessons. I am a member of the New York State Music Teachers Association, an affiliate of the National Music Teachers Association ( MTNA). I am also a member of the American Federation of Musicians, New York chapter, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, national honor society for the liberal arts. I have previously sung soprano with the St. Paul's Espiscopal Choir in Englewood, NJ, and currently have a position as Music Director at NBRC. My students have gone on to professional music employment in several different areas. As a performer, I have played in various groups in the United States and Canada- I was pianist for the American Wind Symphony Tour, the Milwaukee Ballet Company School, master classes for the Chicago City Ballet, and Paul Taylor Dance Company. I also served as a guest accompanist for the Naples Choral Society, and was a staff accompanist at Northern Illinois University. I have taught music at the university level at Middle Tennessee State University, the University of Winnipeg, University of Manitoba, and the Governor's School of the Arts. I maintain an active career as a performer in the NY/NJ area.
