About Me

My desire is to instill a love of music that will last a life-time. I believe that music can be enriching for everyone, no matter what level or age. Through the study of music with me, students are taught not only the musical fundamentals, but also to enjoy making music from a fun and artistic perspective.

Music is creative and should never be dry or boring. My hope is that students develop an appreciation of music that will last
throughout their lives.

Currently, I am president of the Temecula Valley Music Teachers Association. Below, are other groups that I am affiliated with. My students have participated, earned awards and/or high marks with all of these groups by means of Piano Evaluations, Piano Auditions, and Piano Competitions.

My current affiliations are:

•American College of Musicians/National Guild of Piano Teachers

These affiliations make available many opportunities including recitals, evaluations, and competitions. While participation in these events is not mandatory, it is highly recommended that students choose some events to participate in, as they encourage, motivate, and inspire students to meet mutually agreed upon goals which result in increased learning, fulfillment, and confidence.

 

My Musical Education Background

I studied performance under the concert pianist and teacher, Margaret De'ak along with theory and composition from Stephen De'ak, Professor of Music at Peabody Conservatory, Curtis Institute of Music, and USC. I continue to attend multiple teaching seminars, master classes, and conferences through many different associations.
I began teaching in music and educational schools in 1976. Since 1996, I have been teaching in my own private studios. For the last 11 years I have taught in my private studio for the Murrieta, Temecula, Wildomar, Elsinore, and Encinitas, San Diego areas.

I run a full studio and am very dedicated to providing the best possible instruction to my students. I consider it a privilege and a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with them. Most have participated and/or won awards in recitals, evaluations, or competitions, and some have continued on to college where they are earning degrees in music.

Genres and Subjects Taught

I teach classical piano with theory, however, I also suppliment with different genres such as jazz or popular. With a strong classical foundation, students will have the ability to play any type of music they choose.

Lesson Rates

One lesson per week (based on 4 week month):

30 minutes - 125.00 per month (5 & under only)
45 minutes - 190.00 per month

Two lessons per week:

30 minutes - 245.00
45 minutes - 375.00

There are no discounts for siblings.

All ages from 4 years old to adults

My Certifications and Awards

I am a Certified teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music and a Center Rep. for their assessment program. Currently, I am president of the Temecula Valley Music Teachers Association. I was also State Treasurer for CA Assoc. of Professional Music Teachers for 4 years.
