My goal is to inspire and encourage my students to enjoy what music can also do for them! I live in one of the Villages of Springhurst in east Louisville.

Lesson Rates
Lessons average out to be $22.92 per student. Siblings receive a 5% discount for 2 students...$21.77 per student. Additionally there is a 10% discount for 3 siblings...$20.63 per student.
Lessons are a MINIMUM of 30 minutes. I schedule my students so that there is a 15 minute break between lessons. This 15 minute slot allows for a smooth transition between students and the extra minutes also serve as a tool for "making up" time for missed lessons by simply extending the 30 minute lesson to a 35, 40, or 45 minute lesson.
As a retired teacher for the State of Kentucky, I can and am totally flexible with times/schedules/and make up lessons...My goal is to accomodate you and your student's ever-changing schedules. Music music is a passion of mine so I enjoy teaching piano no matter what time it is!
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
I teach all ages, starting with age four. Learning to play the piano not only provides enjoyment but is a fun way to exercise the brain while increasing arm, hand, and upper body strength as well as finger dexterity. Playing the piano builds strength not only physically, but mentally as well. It utilizes the motor skills as well as the mental skills of the individual and has been known to increase intelligence and IQ. Music therapy is an interest of mine because it helps the elderly and those suffering from alzheimers disease and other memory problems. It brings these patients alive..they start "remembering" these songs and it makes them happy.

I'm a current student, and have been for several years. I love going to the lessons and learning how to smoothly play the most amazing pieces. Miss Marietta has taught me extremely well, using helpful lesson books and encouraging all the time. I started out playing pieces less challenging than "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and am now playing advanced pieces like "Danse Macabre" by Saint-Saens. Miss Marietta has opened my eyes to classical music, and I am so grateful for everything she has taught me and given me. She is perfect for any person, any age!

My daughter took piano lessons with Miss Marietta for 4+ years. I am amazed at how my daughter progressed in her ability to play and sight read over those four years! My daughter was always challenged and played some beautiful pieces for the yearly recitals. Miss Marietta was always accommodating of our ever changing schedule and was always willing to make up any lessons we had to miss. I would recommend her to anyone looking to improve their piano playing ability!
