About Me

I'm an Artist In Piano & Violin and Teacher in Northampton, MA. I teach Classical-Jazz-Gershwin's music works in Beginning-Intermediate-Advanced Levels. Family noted "Miss Yu is a very gifted teacher with high standards and is also warm and encouraging". I come up a New Way of teaching to read, hear, feel music, and crafting finger touch on keys to create special sounds; cry, laugh and sing in my student's play. My students have found it improving their learning tremendously. All lessons are taught on Grand Piano in my beautiful Custom Designed Studio. My Designed Small Group Piano Lesson for age 4-6 is very popular. My current students are age 4 - 75.

My Musical Education Background

I have a broad in depth training by teachers graduated from The Julliard School Of Music and Oberlin Conservatory, and New England School Of Music, and professors of Smith College, Amherst College, and Mount Holyoke College. And self taught; I constantly come up new ways of reading, hearing and feeling the music to share with students. I specialize in solving problems of student has, interpreting musical phrases, enriching tonal dynamics, adding embellishments, and crafting finger touch on keys to create special sounds. I create a Teaching Method - Mental Health For Our Daily Life is to foster the mind to speak with our eyes before fingers come to play. Students and families have found it improved their play tremendously
