About Me

My name is Margarita Genova. I started to study piano at the age of 8. After graduating from the Academy of Music, I have done solo performances in Bulgaria, Monte Negro ( former Yugoslavia) and USA. I have performed several times as a soloist with " Orpheus" chamber orchestra- J. Haydn, Concerto for keyboard in D Major; J. S. Bach- Concerto N1 in d minor; G. Gershwin- " Rhapsody in Blue", arranged for chamber orchestra by V. Leonard especially for me. I came to the USA in December 1997 to record piano music in Sonic Studio, Philadelphia, and to mwork on a musical arrangement- piano reduction of jazz opera " Vanqui" by Philadelphian composer L. Burrs. Vanqui's Premiere in 1999 in Columbus, Ohio has been with the participation of the world famous singer Aretha Franklin.

I am teaching piano, music theory and ear training since 1991-over 20 years experience!

I am reading and writting in my native Bulgarian since the age of 4. I love learning foreign languages.

I am offering studio lessons or skype lessons.

My Musical Education Background

Trained in the famous Russian School of Piano Playing.

Masters Degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance, Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, Plovdiv, Bulgaria 1991

1992-1998- private piano lessons with Dimo Dimov, professor in the Academy of Music-Sofia, Bulgaria and a former student of legendary pianist Lili Krause.

Classical Piano/some jazz; Theory of Music, Ear Training.


I do offer to my students up to 3 adjudications/year, including a certificate/diploma from a prestigious musical assossiation; participation in numerous music festivals, competitions and students recitals.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

All ages-5 to adults, and I am teaching All Levels- Beginnng, Intermediate, Advanced.

My Certifications and Awards

October 2007- 16 out of 16 students of mine won a Gold Medal Award in Dorothy Sutton Performance Festival and participated in Showcase Recital. Every year after that I have had at least a few students winning the Gold Medal Award.

May 1, 2011- Two Students finalists and Silver/Bronze Medal Winners in the International Competition " Young Classical Virtuoso of Tomorrow"

March 3, 2013- My student was the Grand Prix Winner of the Concerto Competition. She performed as a soloist of Island Chamber Symphony in New York.

My influences are Scarlatti, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven,Debussy, Liszt, Gershwin
