About Me
Playing the piano has been a lifelong passion of mine. I constantly learn new repertoire so that I can maintain a high skill level which leads me to being a more competent and enthusiastic teacher. (I practice two hours a day.) After more than 25 years of teaching, I still have occasional lessons with a concert pianist (Walter Hautzig in New York City) and I belong to a teachers performance group that meets monthly. I also perform in master classes.
Teaching piano is another lifelong passion. I love watching students develop over the years into fine musicians. I am always seeking out repertoire that will deepen their interest and motivate them to keep going until they graduate from high school. Many of them give senior recitals and some continue piano studies in college. Many have won awards in competitions.
I teach in an especially-built studio that has two well-kept grand pianos (Steinway B's). The studio is large enough to hold small recitals.
