About Me
I teach the traditional method and have been well trained in the Taubman Technique which helps to ensure natural hand movements and guards against muscle strain. I adhere to classical standards and introduce reading by sight early on in the instruction. I gravitate towards the classics and will also teach some contemporary popular songs; younger children learn a variety of materials based upon their ability and interest, and when they are ready I will introduce standard composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi, and Kabelevsky. It is wonderful to see children gain proficiency and enthusiasm at the keyboard and to help facilitate their love for music and performance.

My Musical Influences
I have been greatly influenced by the major composers in the Classical realm: Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Debussy, Ravel, and more! But all music appeals to me and I love American jazz and have studied improvisation. I have played piano at Church for many years and have also played in a coffee-house band, doing songs in the folk tradition. I have also composed many songs of my own.
