About Me

Piano Keys to Music Studio is a welcoming home studio where piano students learn to quickly play songs they love and songs to grow on. Relying on 20 years public and private teaching and 30 years giving private piano lessons, students receive a strong foundation in music leading to accomplishments that make them feel proud. Being consistent, reliable, patient, customizing lessons to fit a students style of learning, clearly communicating, encouraging responsibility, positive attitudes, movitators to keep moving forward,  turning mistakes into positve learning experiences, patient (did I say patient?) humor, and genuine caring for how the learning music can impact all facets of a person's life; is part of what I bring to the lessons.  As you get to work with me, you'll discover many subtle ways I bring out the joy and benefits of piano play to a student so they more than ever feel that desire to learn, to want to play more'

The Studio not only offers the students the richness of playing on an acoustic grand piano, but also the excitement of a state of the art digital piano with so many capabilities for a pianist to expand their music skills into the digital world. This studio is known for our creative endeavors to bring music to the community in various "shows" that have students participating in all kinds of phases of production and mentoring. They learn stage presence, to work in duets as well as being part of an ensemble group, microphone protocol, light theater as they narrate stories that are accompanied by piano...so many ways they get to have the experience of what their new skills can do. It's not just sitting at the piano for a lesson. I work with them in all these areas. It's fun, exciting and they learn a great deal about themselves and how "accomplished" they can become.

After a lesson, no matter how discouraging the day has been, students always remark how much better they feel- we've enjoyed the time together, they've felt their improvements, we've played all kinds of music and they're reinvigorated to begin the new week. Part of what I bring to the lesson is to assess where the student is in their learning, how their skills are developing, what's getting in their way, shifting the stress of needing to be perfect into wanting to better themselves in a healthy way. Mastery will be a result of that.

Lesson Rates

$120 per month - scheduled time of 30 min. once per week. Based on 4 weeks a month. The 5th week is included no extra charge. No contracts.

First 2 lessons are free. $35 annual tech/materials fee. 

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

I enjoyably work with all ages. Specialty in beginner to intermediate.
