About Me

I teach from PianoMusicality Studio outside of Middletown, Virginia.  My teaching focuses on sensitive musical expression, technique, sight reading, and theory.  Students learn pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods, in addition to their special interest (sacred, light jazz, folk).  I use the Faber method with beginning students.  Students learn scales in all the key signatures as part of their lessons.

I'm Colin Campbell, owner of the studio.  I have been teaching piano since 2014 and teach both performance piano and accompaniment.  In addition to teaching I am a church pianist, concert pianist and accompanist.  I am active as a collaborative pianist and piano soloist in the Northern Shenandoah Valley.  In addition to teaching piano, my piano performance work includes music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods, including folk, light jazz, and Broadway pieces.  My piano repertoire includes both sacred and secular works.

My Musical Education Background

I studied piano and vocal performance while earning my BSBA in Entrepreneurship.  I have studied music, piano pedagogy, piano performance and collaborative piano under the mentorship of several master instructors in the Shenandoah.  I studied piano for 12 years including 4 years with a private graduate level instructor.  My training included a one-year piano teaching internship.

Genres and Subjects Taught

Students learn pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods, in addition to their special interest (sacred, light jazz, folk). 

All students learn music theory and music history as part of their weekly lessons.

Lesson Rates

The lesson year is August through June.  I charge a flat monthly rate. 

45 minute lessons are $112 per month

60 minute lessons are $132 per month

I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students from ages 7 through adult
