About Me

As master student major in music at University of Hawaii at Manoa who is passionate for piano performance and piano pedagogy. I also hold a bachelor degree in music education in Shanghai Normal University. I started playing piano when I was six years old. With my teachers’ help, I worked hard to gain valuable piano performing skills, capacity to read music, as well as my knowledge on music theory. My intensive piano trainings and study of music provided a solid ground when I picked up the musicology as my college major. During my study at the UH Manoa, i have acquired excellent results due to my hard work and active participation. I was awarded Ara Nora piano scholarship for the year of 2014 and have been ranked top piano players. Participation in extracurricular activities has become part of my college life. When I was an undergraduate student, I volunteered at community senior centers where I taught senior citizens to sing and to play piano. I also volunteered at a local charity organization in assisting mentally retarded ill children to sing and to study music. From September to November 2012, I worked as intern music teacher at an elementary school and my work had been Campus greatly approved by teachers and students. After I study in US, I accompany with vocal and instrument student in music department. Moreover, I volunteer to teach students whose are not good at piano. In the year 2014 i attend internship in Shanghai Concert Hall. During this time I assisted to organized concert includes famous pianist and orchestra band. I also help to translate when some master give a lecture.
