About Me
It's my mission to help passionate flutists achieve peak performance with a healthy mindset and invaluable practice skills. My name is Stephanie Hoeckley and I am the Assistant Professor of Flute at Arkansas State University!
I specialize in teaching intermediate and advanced-level flutists that are looking to develop their unique musical voice, become confident team players, and play with sophisticated and powerful artistry!
Our lessons together are often supplemented with a powerful engagement technique for high school students and adults called gamification! (AKA using game elements and game design strategies to create unique and memorable learning experiences!)
With over 10 years of teaching experience and a Doctorate degree in Music Performance, I provide flutists with expert guidance and instruction. I love to show students how to avoid sneaky flute traps so they learn how to play well without needing to unlearn bad habits later!
My students' successes include being accepted into university flute programs, honor bands, youth orchestras, and have been prizewinners in a variety of flute competitions. If you have flute goals, I’m here to help you reach them (with a smile)!
I believe in empowering musicians by giving them the tools to count any rhythm, play challenging works with ease and musicianship, become their own teacher, and master the skills they need to become a lifelong musician. Let me show you how lessons will make your music dreams a reality!
