About Me

The Maple Arts Academy is located in the lower level of the Steinway Piano Gallery of Detroit.

Private Lessons:

One of the greatest gifts a parent can give their child is the gift of artistic expression. When an adult or child learns how to paint a picture or how to play their favorite piece of music, they receive a great sense of personal satisfaction that can’t be reproduced by any other means. It builds confidence, helps with memorization and fine motor skills, and it’s fun!

A few benefits:

- Building Confidence – We encourage our music makers to perform on stage in order to develop confidence.
- Enhancing Concentration – The neural pathways in the brain that are used for science, mathematics, spatial skills, logic and reason are the same pathways that are built through the constant repetition of music
- Improving Coordination – A disciplined approach to the development of visual art skills and improved dexterity.
- Expressing Creatively – To explore the imaginative possibilities that come from the practice of art.

Music for Young Children (MYC):

MYC’s interactive system motivates and engages parents and children, nurturing family bonds and delivering valuable co-learning experiences. The main goal is to put the child at the center and integrate keyboard, creative movement, rhythm, singing, ear training, sight-reading, music theory and composition. MYC helps participants -children and parent- develop a firm, fundamental understanding of music.

Teen and Adult Group Piano:

If you think it’s too late or you are too old to learn how to play and enjoy the soothing influence of music, this is the class for you. You will learn how to play and count in the first lesson guaranteed! Join other aspiring musicians in a social setting with the ultimate goal of music making. No instrument required!

Miss Lindsay\'s Art Room:

Miss Lindsay’s art room is an exciting place where kids of all ages can express themselves creatively. Students will learn to draw, paint and sculpt various subjects of their choosing.

They will receive their own art kit, which includes: pencil, eraser, ruler/triangle, colored pencils, charcoal, oil pastels, watercolor, acrylic paints with one 8x10 canvas board and sketchbook.

NEW students = $35 art kit
RETURNING students = $5 materials
