About Me

Alecia Stringer is a professional music educator with a love for the joy and fun in learning and growing through music. Alecia graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2001. Since she started teaching piano in 1999, she has taught in several states including Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee.

Alecia began playing and studying piano at the age of eight. While living in Arkansas, she directed performances and concerts, and prepared students for all-state choir auditions and performances, and had several students in the all-state choir. She also created and organized a piano keyboard program, which she used to teach keyboard classes.

Alecia instructs through a method that is a unique, innovative and enjoyable way for students of all ages to learn. This method helps students achieve goals faster-learning note reading, consistent counting and growing through creative thought skills in each lesson.  It's exciting to take a beginner through advanced levels with this same method.

Inside Alecia Stringer's teaching philosophy, she always helps other's find their real passion and music fun inside their training.

Any opportunity to enhance and expand other life skills of good communication, patience, confidence, and joy is helpful to grow one's training.

Philosophy comes from one's experiences and beliefs. Since Alecia began her journey from the age of 8 being inspired by walking by a piano player in the mall, there are many educational goals that have guided her journey as she explored new teachers as she earns a B.A. Music Educational Degree from Western Kentucky University in 2001.

While educational goals are SMART, it is helpful to understand how each student can use these goals in their lessons.

For specifical goals in teaching piano, many share their love and passions may be for a specific song or genre. Learning what they are currently listening to now and what they would like to accomplish is very helpful in guiding them in the right direction to their goals.

Measurable goals are helpful to understand if they are putting the right amount of effort or correct focus for achievement. With each student, every book we complete, we share our favorite songs through a recording. I learned from my first teacher that this is what gives more confidence in our success. When a performance is possible, I always recommend that as well.

Attainable goals are helpful to guild our short term and long term goals. Understanding what we should accomplish weekly, how long it's going to take, and the steps needed to get there is how we evaluate our attainable goals.

Rewarding is essential after each successful piece. We celebrate accomplishments with certificates, trophies when necessary, and of course, those recordings to show off our work. Sharing the fun we have is part of finding why we love to play.

A trackable journey is helpful to see how far we have accomplished along the way in our goals. When we see the little steps we have taken to reach our goals is fun to look back and see how far we have come on a regular basis.

Achieve anything in life reaching all your fun enjoyable goals on your journey.
