About Me

As a kid, I had two dreams: rockin’ out on the guitar and kickin’ butt in the martial arts. Alas, I also grew up poor in rural Pennsylvania and lacked the opportunity of doing either. Luckily fate intervened placing a guitar in my hands at the tender age of twenty-six, and I have never looked back. Over the last ten-years, I studied with some of the finest guitarists on the West Coast including Bay Area legends’ David Haas, Patrick Greene, Mimi Fox, and Johnny Nitro, graduated from the Portland Community College Professional Music Program, and won numerous academic awards and scholarships. In addition, I am also the winner of the 2016 Regional Arts & Cultural Council (RACC) Professional Development grant for the arts. Today, I am Oregon’s most inspired guitar instructor. My brainchild, The Ultimate Rock Guitar Dojo for Kids, combines my passion for music with my love for the martial arts. Students of the Dojo progress through five levels of skill and achievement while mastering musical fundamentals like: rhythm, repertoire, ear training, rock history, improvisation, and ensemble playing. My Musical Education Background

I teach rock, blues, acoustic, and beginning guitar.

Lesson Rates

My lessons cost: $50 per hour, $35 per half-hour, $25 per student per group with a minimum of 5-students.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

Although I teach students of all ages, I specialize in working with kids who wanna rock!

My Certifications and Awards

I am a 2016 winner of a RACC grant for the arts. In addition, I am the 2014 winner of the Eric Porshman Art Scholarship Winner, a Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award, 12-Time Presidents Award Winner for Highest Academic Honors, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Miller Foundation Scholarship Winner, and an Urban League Scholarship Winner. Furthermore, my guitar method book for kids, The Ultimate Rock Guitar Dojo for Kids: White Belt Edition, has a 5-star rating on (contact me) and has been endorsed by some of the world's leading learning specialists like Dr. Barbara Oakley.
