About Me

 

I have a Bachelors degree in Music Industry/Business from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul.

I have been teaching percussion lessons since 2013. 

We have an on-site recording studio.

In addtion to a full time music studio, I also teach music classes for Venture homeshool co-op, I am assisting with Sound/Lighting at River Valley Church at Crosstown Campus & I am in a local band called Jacket.

My Musical Education Background

I have been teaching for several years at Reisinger Conservatory of Music. Having started piano lessons at the age of 4. I have an extensive background in music. Besides percussion I also play: Piano, Guitar, Bass and a few other instruments. Some of the instructors I learned from include: Mr.Gene Piccolo- a well known local jazz muscian who has since passed. I also studied extensively at School Of Rock Burnsville, Eden Prairie and St. Paul. I have studied with Leon Lombardo and had a masterclass with Gordy Knutson of the Steve Miller band. Most recently I have studied with many talented muscians at the University of St. Thomas including Mr. Will Kemperman.

I have been active the with University Of St. Thomas Guitar ensemble which performed at the Minnesota Orchestra. I have also been active performing with the Popular Styles Ensemble at University Of St. Thomas as well as The Chamber Singers. This year I had a percussion recital at St. Thomas.

Performing with a band called The Jewels- we have several singles available on Spotify,  YouTube, and Apple Music.

As a pianist, I have performed at various venues including: Lakeville Arts Center, Mall of America. As  percussionist I have performed at Minnesota Music Cafe. and with The Jewels I have performed at such venues as: Blush (Duluth Minnesota), Caddy Shack (Duluth Minnesota),several house parties & at Dam Lake Bar and Grill  to name a few.

  • I teach students who are playing for enjoyment as well as students who are wanting to learn how to play in a band.
  • I teach students of any age and skill level. 
  • I teach many styles  of music.
  • I teach the core fundamentals that are needed for any student who wants to prepare for school band or any formal performance.
  • I help students who need to improve or prepare for their school music programs. 
  • I teach students who are playing for enjoyment as well as students who are wanting to learn how to play in a band.
  • I teach students of any age and skill level.
  • I offer beginning percussion lessons to help students prepare to play percussion in school band (no piano lessons required.)

Lesson Rates

 

Tuition is a flat rate of $130 a month.

I also offer 45 and 60 minute lessons. Please ask for a quote for longer  lessons.

There are typically four (thirty minute) lessons a month. A Studio Calendar will be provided upon enrollment.

Materials are included for in-studio lessons.

Online lesson books not included, printed materials available at no cost.

I have received numerous trophies. certificates and awards from various music programs including: Reisinger Conservatory of Music Programs, Minnesota Music Teachers Association programs and National Federation of Music Clubs programs. I have also received numerous scholarships.

Member of Apple Valley Music Teachers Association.
