About Me
Music is a beautiful creation, and the study of it can be enjoyed for all those who appreciate its gift. My philosophy of teaching is to educate and foster the uniqueness of each student (child, teen, or adult) to their individual needs and abilities. Using various instructional method books, all students learn the basics of note reading, rhythm, chords, phrasing and a feeling for the music. All styles of music (classical to contemporary) are taught. My teaching style is easygoing and caring while strongly encouraging a commitment to good practice habits. A piano party is enjoyed once a year in the fall. Each student shares their special piece with their unique expression for family and friends. I have over 20 years of piano teaching experience with students ages ranging from 5 to 80 (beginner to advance levels) in Montgomery County. I maintain my piano skills through professional continuous education, and I am a member of Music Teacher’s National Association. The joy of music can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

She has the love of teaching. Knows how to motivate and transfer knowledge very clearly. You can’t help but to focus on learning because she makes it very lively. Interesting lady.

I have had Diana as my teacher for many years. I am an adult student, having taken and hated lessons as a child, but LOVE Diana. She tailors my lessons to my interests and skill level, and keeps everything upbeat. I learn something new every single time I have a lesson (despite years of previous lessons and playing in the band through high school!). She is a very caring individual and a true gem.

After years of being taught by Diana I feel that I have grown as a piano player and a person. Though I am not the best when it comes to musical talent, she is very understanding and patient and can always maintain a relaxed and comfortable learning environment. She doesn't just teach the technical side of music, but encourages the students own creativity with each piece. Any piano student of any skill level will be happy with the lessons Diana gives!

Plain and simple, Diana taught me music. Piano was the first instrument I seriously studied, and Diana made the potentially grueling experience of sitting down behind the keyboard for the first time a true pleasure. She has been an absolutely integral part to my musical development, always supportive of new directions I wanted to explore or new styles I wanted to approach, yet constantly guiding with her experienced hands. Diana's passionate teaching focus not only on proper technique but also true musicality and expression of emotion through music set her apart as one of the best music teachers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. During my preparation for a music major in college, I have experienced many different teaching styles at many different institutions, and I confidently maintain that Diana's love and care for each individual student is something not commonly found. Regardless of skill level or intent of playing piano, be it for fun or for the future, Diana takes meticulous care to offer a rewarding experience to every student. I owe so much of my passion for playing music to her.

Diana influences my musical passion in so many ways. I appreciate her guidance, even though I am not always the best at practicing or even playing the instrument as a whole. She is very tolerant of any level of talent, which helps me feel more confident in my playing. She makes me believe in myself and her love for teaching really shines through during every lesson. She has helped me branch out musically and allowed me to explore many different genres, which influences my music taste greatly. Diana is an extremely dedicated, smart, creative and passionate teacher and I advise everyone who is interested in piano to try out lessons with her!
