About Me
I am a professional musician working and performing in Winston-Salem, NC and surrounding communities. I am a 22-year member of the Winston-Salem Symphony and a 24-year member of the Salisbury, NC Symphony. In both orchestras, I regularly perform on Principal Clarinet, Principal Bass Clarinet, E-flat clarinet, and saxophone. I am a 15-year member of the WS Symphony Woodwind Quintet a founding member of the Bolton Quintet and - both are educational ensembles that perform many times each season at local elementary schools teaching academics through music. For 16 years, I ran my own music studio in Greensboro, NC, where I taught many clarinet and saxophone students, some of whom went on to earn degrees in music education and performance. I also am the Music Director/Conductor of the Salem Band in W-S, one of the oldest community bands in the country. The organization also consists of ensembles that I began after joining the band in 2011: the Salem Swing Band and the Salem Saxophone Quartet. Salem Band gives at least 10 performances per year, of eight different programs of original and transcribed band music. I have been teaching private lessons in my home in WS since 2011 - my studio is a dedicated music room with a separate outside entrance for students' convenience, with plenty of parking space.
