About Me
I taught in several Albany area locations and have given private piano lessons for over 30 years. During high school years, I studied with Mlle. Yvonne Combe at the French School of Music in Plainfield, I studied with Robert Goldsand during my undergraduate years at the Manhattan School of Music , NYC. Later on, I studied piano with Dr. Dorothy Flood during graduate years at The College of Saint Rose. I have been a teacher of NYSSMA piano students through Level 6 and accompanist for instrumentalists for NYSSMA. Former accompanist for Masterworks Chorale at the College of Saint Rose. Former adjunct teacher of Keyboard Harmony for 1st year students at College of Saint Rose. Former Music Director of area churches for 15 years and Director of choirs and handbells. Piano instructor at Albany Academies for nearly 30 years.
Current teaching studio is at Music & Arts, Latham, NY.
Beginners through advanced students are welcome.

Genres and Subjects Taught

Lessons are given at Music & Arts at 579 Troy Schenectady Rd, Latham, NY
Subjects taught: notereading,scales, theory, and styles in music. Students will discover interesting chord progressions within a musical composition. While Improvising melodies with simple to complex rhythms, students will experience how composers think and work.

My Musical Influences
My focus as a piano teacher is for the student to be well-rounded musically and to influence students through example. As a teacher I train students to listen intently to music and learn to play many musical styles. My influences were Arthur Rubenstein,Alexander Brailowsky, Mlle. Combe, Robert Goldsand, and all those who encouraged me along the way.
