About Me

RALPH MARTINO – I am a composer/arranger and have commercially played piano and keyboards throughout the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area for over 30 years. I’ve received a BM and MM in composition / piano from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and was a head staff arranger/composer at the US Navy Band (Washington, D.C.) for over 20 years.

I had written hundreds of piano arrangements for Hal Leonard Corp. which make up a significant part of their EASY PIANO series; many publications for woodwinds and various ensembles with ALFRED MUSIC, TUBA EUPHONIUM PRESS, MANDUCA PUBLICATIONS, SHAWNEE PRESS and DORN PUBLICATIONS.

I had taught piano for 22 years at Jordan Kitts Music and Oren Music; and I currently teach private lessons, in your home, in the Annapolis area. I have resided in Annapolis, MD for about 30 years.

PIANIST / ACCOMPANIST - I've been PIANIST / ACCOMPANIST at St.John Neumann (Saint Mary's) Roman Catholic Church in Annapolis for about 15 years.  I play and accompany various masses at St. John Neumann or St. Mary's weekly.

Student Reviews

Severna Park, MD

I highly recommend Ralph Martino, who teaches piano lessons with clarity and good humor. He is a gifted, supportive teacher, particularly skillful in teaching students about timing in music. Since beginning my lessons last year, I am making steady progress in my ability to play the piano with confidence and grace.

Mr.Martino is a patient, humorous teacher for us older students that have decided to start renewing our piano study again. He is helping me get over being nervous about playing for strangers. We have very good, profitable and enjoyable lessons.

Severn, MD

Ralph is a wonderful and patient teacher, specializing in teaching adults. I have been taking weekly lessons with Ralph for about 3 months and am amazed at how much I have learned. In addition to being a great teacher, I appreciate his punctuality and flexibility if I need to adjust my lesson time.

Annapolis, MD

I highly recommend Ralph Martino. I have learned so much since starting lessons with Mr. Martino. I had been trying to self-teach, but would never have learned proper techniques and timing without his professional and patient instruction! It is also very convenient that Mr. Martino comes to my house to teach lessons.
