About Me
I have lived all my life in Kentucky. Growing up, I enjoyed music, gardening, cooking, and oil painting. When graduating from highschool, I worked at Chick-fil-A in marketing. After taking a few years off of school, I enrolled at Boyce College and as a music major, I had little time for anything other than studies during school until my Junior year. During my Junior year, I worked as ambassador and became engaged to a minister whom I married the summer before my Senior year. I am now happily married, graduated, and pregnant!
My Musical Education Background
My piano journey started at age eight. I took piano lessons until eighteen as a enjoyable hobby which I shared with those at home and those at church. At age eigtheen, I decided to delve into composition and dedicate a year to chords, scales, and improvisation. At age nineteen, I began to recognize my passion for piano and ministry in the church. As I began to look at further education as a possible church musician, I started serious lessons focused on classical preparation. Soon I began a bible/ music degree at Boyce College.
Genres and Subjects Taught
I have taught piano for over three years. Currently, I focus on teaching the elementary concepts of piano including: theory, aural skills, scales, and chords. After the student is grounded in some basic skills of piano, I move them on to a music education centered on the classical genre open to other genres as enjoyed by the student.

My Musical Influences
In the last 16 years I have been inspired by much music and many musicians. J.S. Bach has inspired me as dedicated composer and church musician. Ludwig Beethoven has inspired me as Romantic, emotional creator. Claude Debussy has inspired me as mystical, impressionistic artist. Recent musicians such as Norah Jones has inspiried me with her simple yet genius compositions. Last but not least, my piano instructor in college taught me to be not just a technical, perfectionist pianist, but an emotional, musical creator. Thank you, Dr. Turner!
