About Me
"The most fulfilling thing for me to do in my life is to teach music and instill the belief in every student that they can become the best musician they can be." Since I was a young child, I have always loved music. My music journey started when I was 12 years old and I joined the orchestra class in my middle school. I was immediately drawn to the violin, the sounds of the strings, and I knew when I drew the bow across the A-string that I would play violin for the rest of my life. Since then, I have never stopped playing. I have played in community orchestras in Broward County such as the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra, Florida Youth Orchestra, and All-County Silver & Gold Broward Orchestras for 5 years. From 2015-2016, I attended Coral Glades High School, where I became the youngest concertmaster in the orchestra as a freshman, and started teaching orchestra students as a freshman. I led the Coral Glades Symphony as concertmaster to receive Superior ratings from all the judges for Broward County String & Ensemble for the first time in the school's history! That was a major accomplishment for me and it showed me that I have the skills and passion to be a music teacher. I auditioned to be in the orchestra program for a performing arts high school and from 2016-2017, I attended performing arts high school, Dillard High in Fort Lauderdale. During my time at Dillard, I worked on solo pieces, orchestral works, and worked alongside the orchestra director to teach beginner orchestra classes to young students during school hours, and after school. During my time teaching at Dillard as a student myself, it was then that I realized that I am really passionate about teaching music. In 2019, I began my college journey at Florida International University and became a Communications major; however, I did not want to stop studying the violin. So, I started studying with Juilliard Graduate and one of the original members of the Amernet String Quartet, Professor Marcia Littley, to continue my violin studies and pursue my minor in Music. Marcia Littley is one of my major inspirations to why I want to become a music teacher. Not only because of WHAT she taught me, but HOW she taught me. My goal as a teacher is to make sure that when students have lessons with me, that it becomes their safe-space to learn and to grow. Something I always teach my students is that in life, you NEVER stop learning. I strongly believe that my calling in life is to teach the violin to students of ALL ages, ALL backgrounds, and to make sure that every single student believes with all of their heart that they CAN do it, no matter what. If you believe it, you can achieve it!
