About Me
Music instruction can be enjoyable and inspire creativity. Each individual's aspirations and goals are valued. Learning an instument - especially the piano - has many proven benefits. Numerous studies have shown profound and lasting benefits to minds young to adult through actively studying the piano.

My Musical Education Background
Katherine has a B.A. in music and religion from Drew University and graduated cum laude. She has been teaching for over twenty-five years and welcomes students from age five to ninety-five! She creates safe atmosphere for learning. Questions are valued. Students are encouraged to explore music that interests them.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Classical and popular piano. Methods include Faber and Faber, Carl Czerny, and the Classics. As students progress, a wide world of musical selections opens up to them. Students are encouraged (but never pressured) to try pieces that interest them - even if they are above their level. A motivated student can accomplish a lot!
Lesson Rates
$35.00 per half hour - payable at the beginning of the month.
$52.50 per forty-five minutes - payable at the beginning of the month.
$70.00 per hour - payable at the beginning of the month.
Summer: Lessons are purchased in a block - with due consideration for vacations and other fun activities.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
Some students are ready to start lessons at four, most at five, and almost all by age six.
Adult students are valued! Each student is treated like the individual that they are.
Levels: Beginner to Advanced.
My Certifications and Awards
Katherine offers two performance opportunities a year for her students. Her goal is to foster the ability to play in front of others in a way that is comfortable and safe.
She will help students prepare for contests, but that is not her emphasis. Her goals include musical discovery that leads to a lifetime of creating music at the piano.
My Musical Influences
Chopin, Rachmaninov, Beethoven, and Engish and American Rock.
