About Me

I find piano group teaching something different and unique compared to private instruction. It is not widely available in in town and it is highly affordable by those who have long wanted to learn how to play the piano. I found that it is more effective, fun, and motivating to be in a group class. My method of group teaching now has changed compared to when I started. I group them according to age and ability level. They play at the same time and do ensembles. They do not have the same learning ability. I changed my method by working in with them individually but still in a group setting. They wear hadphones and work on their own pace. Teaching in a group setting can be more challenging than in private. It requires more focus, dedication, preparation and skill on teaching group. They also play with accompanies like orchestrated music backgrounds and play along. One should learn the correct counting, rhythm, and note reading. We moved out of our comfort zone by changing our location to accomodate more students.

My Musical Education Background

I studied piano at the age of 6 and continously playing until I finished college. I was under the instruction of Ms. Eva LLorca from Bacolod City, Philippines. I diligently practiced from 8am til 6pm everyday. I challenged myself to play Rhapsody in Blue and Revolutionary Etude at age 12. My mother was a great influence in my piano playing and my inspiration.

Our daughter have been under Ms. Landero instruction for just over a year now. During that time, we have gradually watched them thumbed one finger through Joy the World at Christmas. And at present time,where they are now able to play. Three Blind Ice on the piano together in perfect harmony! The girls have shown what good teaching, patience and wonderful methology can do!
