About Me
Hi there!
I'm Lauren, and I'm so glad you're here!
My flute journey started at ten years old. I saw a flute being played in an orchestra and never looked back. Over the years, I've been fortunate to have amazing experiences that have shown me how to perform with passion and purpose, and now it's my time to share them with you.
I've known what it feels like to lack passion and confidence in your playing (especially in a live performance setting)
I've also experienced the joy of letting go of comparison and perfectionism (I can help you, too!)
As a student who was involved in athletics, academics, and music, I know what it feels like to have limited practice time (I can help you find balance).
Or if you are a current or recovering procrastinator (guilty!), I want to help you put the purpose and fun back into practicing your instrument!
If you can relate to any of the above statements, you are in the right place. If you're ready to take your playing to the next level, I got you!
My goal as a music educator, performer, and flutist is to inspire you to work hard and chase your dreams - whatever they may be. My experience with elementary to college-level students allows me to help young, aspiring flute players reach their goals.
I am currently the professor of flute at the University of the Cumberlands, have a growing private lessons studio, and perform frequently around my old Kentucky home.
My Musical Education Background
I have a Bachelor's of Music from Georgetown College and a Master's of Music Performance from the University of Louisville.
