About Me
Greetings! I'm a native of Camp Point, IL and completed my bachelors degree with cum laude honors at Illinois College under the instruction of Dr. Garrett Allman. I've most recently completed a masters degree in piano pedagogy from Western Illinois University under the instruction of Dr. Jeffery Brown. While at Western I worked as a teaching assistant for class piano and taught private and group lessons through the Community Music School. I've participated in masterclasses with internationally known pianists such as Dr. Stephen Bues, Dr. Robert Satterlee, and Dr. Nicholas Roth. I'm is a passionate teacher of all skill levels and ages and a member of Music Teacher’s National Association. In my free time I'm an avid church musician and enjoys music theory, the Great American Songbook, and spending time with family and friends.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught
I'm comfortable teaching ages 5 onward. No one is too old to begin or return playing the piano! I'm passionate about beginner students but would enjoy adding intermediate students to my studio as well. From learning black and white keys, note notes, and reading music to Bach, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, we all have much to learn!
My Certifications and Awards
Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) member, Jacksonville Symphony Society Talent Among Us Finalist (2013)
My Musical Influences
My grandmother Janice Buss whose music and lesson books decorate my office (and many I still use!). I have fond memories playing piano duets with her and those will always be in my heart. I can always blame her for getting me mixed up in this business!
